itunesad 300x300 EP Release: Kyle Galanaugh

We’re pleased to announce that The Bergen Park EP has finally been released!  Justin and I both co-produced the EP, and were able to bring out Kyle’s vision for these songs. We’re all very happy with how it turned out, and we’ve been receiving some amazing feedback so far.  There’s a growing buzz around town about Kyle – and he’s already starting to receive some radio airplay around town on KTCL 93.3 and currently is Alternative 101.5‘s “Artist of the Month”.  Make sure to call in and request Kyle’s songs – and be sure to click on the link to the left to purchase the Bergen Park EP from iTunes.  We worked very hard on this project – and we hope you like it!

kylecdrelease2 225x300 EP Release: Kyle GalanaughTo celebrate the release, KTCL 93.3 put on a show featuring Kyle headlining at The Soiled Dove here in Denver. Local artists Xiren and Almost Legends warmed up a packed crowd, and the reception was great.  We were lucky enough to be able to check out the show with guitarist Fernando Curiel, who played electric guitar on the EP.  Bassist Jimmy Stofer and drummer Christian Teele (who also played on the record) contributed to Kyle’s band, and did a bang-up job!

There were quite a few sales of the EP at the end of the night, and a few people were sporting the new t-shirts.  Overall, it was a great show that really rocked!  Make sure to keep an eye on Kyle’s website for more information on upcoming shows.

The Update: Mastering and fall bookings…

September 19, 2008

So, Kyle’s project just got back from mastering in LA by none other than Brian “Big Bass” Gardner. Brian does amazing work and we were so excited to have him give the final polish on this project.

In other news, we’re booking for fall. What About Pluto? is going into preproduction in a few weeks for their EP, and we’re getting closer to booking several other artists for the fall.

We’re also excited about our new Focal Twin6 studio monitors. I (Justin) reviewed them for Recording Magazine and was totally surprised by them. After getting used to them we realized they were the monitor for us. Still keeping the NS-10′s around, but I’m loving going back and forth between both sets.

Lastly, there’s some other really huge news that we’ll be announcing in another week or so… Stay tuned!

Photo Shoot

August 1, 2008

Promo Photo 1Today, Justin and I took a much needed break from the studio world and put on our photographer hats!  We’re currently involved in working with Kyle on developing his branding, which is a very critical part of the process.

We ended up taking a short little trip in downtown Golden to try to find some cool photo shoot locales for his website.  After a little bit of searching, we stumbled upon this really cool outdoor vintage train museum just outside of town.  It was pretty amazing to see – and luckily a ton of interesting backdrops peaked our interest.

We pretty much just cruised around the area (it was actually closed, but the gate was open…so we made ourselves at home), and a few of the old-timers who worked there seemed to be okay with us hanging out Press Photo 2and even let us in to the gated area where some of the coolest trains were.  After shooting for about another 20 minutes, the “head honcho”…Mr. Play-by-the-rules kicked us out.  I think he was just really bored with his job and looked for any opportunity to have an authoritative say in the situation.

He DID have a cool hat, though!

IN OTHER NEWS: Justin’s ukulele playing has now exceeded his guitar playing! Be on the lookout…that is all.

Somebody Call Clive!

May 11, 2008

Friday we had Kyle Galanaugh up to cut BGV’s for his single “Wait.” The track is killing and we’re almost ready to mix. There’s a huge buzz around town about this EP and we’re so excited to finish it up.

picture 1 300x168 Somebody Call Clive! The weekend was spent mostly working on maintenence, miscellaneous projects around the studio and filming for our new reality TV show entitled “Somebody Call Clive!”. Samples and out-takes will be up and available soon. Or, as soon as Dave gets them edited.

In other good news, the new firmware/software update for the Euphonix MC Mix controller was just released and it rocks so far. Seems like most of the major problems were fixed with Pro Tools. We’re also demoing an Orange Tiny Terror amp in the quest to expand guitar world.

Oh, and lastly, we just found out that our friend Yaffa is scheduled to be back in town from Italy this coming week. We will be embarking on uncharted territory, producing an opera/pop track for her record! Stay tuned…
